Join Our Team! DisinfoLab 2022-2023 Internship
DisinfoLab is a student-run disinformation and technology think tank at William & Mary. We use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate emerging trends in online disinformation and develop novel strategies to counter them.
DisinfoLab strives to produce policy-relevant research to share with a network of global policy experts. Previously, the lab has published long-form reports and op-eds in Diplomatic Courier, an international affairs magazine. Our previous research includes:
Analyzing the disinformation resiliency of groups in Eastern Europe
Evaluating identity bias in GPT-3 and Google Search autocompletion
Building a neural network to predict the spread of fake news on Twitter
This year, DisinfoLab analysts will each research and produce an original op-ed or technical project, and contribute to the design, execution, and synthesis of a lab-wide report on a pressing disinformation issue.
DisinfoLab seeks highly motivated, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial team members for 2022-2023. The internship is 10 hrs/week and runs from Monday, October 3rd, to Friday, December 9th. You can learn more about the lab at disinfolab.net, or @disinfo_lab. For questions, reach out to disinfolab@gmail.com.
**For all positions, research experience and/or demonstrated interest in international relations, public policy, government, or history is preferred, but not required. Freshman and sophomore students are strongly encouraged to apply.
